Radalytica

CT without a cabinet — the scanner goes to the object

The technology

Radalytica's RadalyX turns X-ray inspection inside out. Instead of putting a part into a cabinet, robotic arms move the X-ray source and a photon-counting detector around the object — so inspection comes to the part, on the factory floor or in the field, and adapts its path to complex geometry. That open geometry reaches things a conventional CT never could: an installed aircraft wing, a structure too large or fixed to move, or a sample that has to be scanned where it sits.

Where it’s used

  • On-location inspection — bring CT to the part instead of shipping it
  • Very large or installed structures, like an aircraft wing
  • Aerospace composites — foreign objects, porosity, water ingress in honeycomb
  • Welds and castings — porosity and residual-stress evaluation
  • Photon-counting X-ray, CT and tomosynthesis in one robotic platform
